On September 26th a ceremony of laying the foundation stone for the Center for Research and Development of Lubawa S.A. was held. The new building will facilitate the work on unique materials and fabrics as well as their use in safety systems, including ballistics and camouflage.

The Center located in Lubawa (Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship) is going to be a modern research facility, allowing the conduct of work in the field of technically advanced fabrics and materials. The emerging laboratories will be equipped with equipment for testing the static and dynamic strength, also the physico-mechanical properties of raw materials and complete products of the Lubawa Group. Research and Development will be conducted independently as well as in cooperation with scientific units, external companies and non-governmental organizations.

- The new Center will significantly increase the research potential and strengthen the competitive position of the Lubawa Group. We will work on developing new solutions, as well as redefining existing ones, based on high-strength fabrics and materials used in, e.g. ballistic systems for people and vehicles, advanced technical camouflage or self-sealing fuel tanks – says the President of Lubawa S.A., Marcin Kubica.

Last year, the project of Lubawa S.A. “Research and Development Center” received a PLN 4,6 million EU funding under the Smart Growth Operational Programme, addressed to the scientific units and other institutions carrying out research and development projects and implementing innovative products and solutions. According to the Company’s assumptions, Lubawa S.A. Research and Development Center is due to start operating in 2018.
