On the second day of the Conference, a lecture was given by Lubawa representative, Mr Piotr Redlarski. The subject of his talk was the use and shaping of specific properties of elastomers in industrial technological processes of coating and calendering. The presentation was based on the Company’s experience, as Lubawa S.A. has its own coating plant in Grudziądz, which is a well-organized department orientated at all the needs of the market. It is the largest coating plant for rubber elastomers in Poland and one of the biggest in Europe. It specializes in coating fabrics with untypical characteristics and diverse applications and colours.

Lubawa S.A. – Coating plant specializes in pneumatic structures. The Company has developed modern inflatable decoys of military vehicles, a number of inflatable boats from small one-person rescue pontoons for the air-force, through landing boats, to RIB type rescue boats and rafting pontoons, as well as inflatable, quick-deployment tents serving as operations centre and field hospitals. One product repeatedly verified in fire-fighting actions is the inflatable rescue cushion and the decontamination chamber constantly modernized for reliability and improvement of its functional properties. One of the military peace missions’ mechanical vehicles were protected by the multi-layer aramid composites, produced by Lubawa.

The main organizer of the 15th International Science and Technology Conference Elastomers 2013 was the Institute of Engineering of Polymer Materials and Colorants, Department of Elastomers and Rubber Technology in Piastów. The Conference was held under the honorary patronage of the Deputy Prime Minister, the Mister of Economy, Janusz Piechociński. Patronage over the event was also taken by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, professor Barbara Kudrycka.
