Lubawa S.A. becoming a beneficiary of further grants
Ministry of Economy has once again granted Lubawa S.A. funding for implementation of tasks connected with Economy Mobilisation Program. Moreover, the Company has been recommended to be given financial support in GEKON programme led by the National Centre for Research and Development, which will grant it funding as part of implementation of projects in the field of eco-innovation. The size of the financial support resulting from the mentioned agreements are PLN 3.3 million and PLN 2.5 million.
It is the third time the Company has been granted financial support from the Ministry of Economy, which is connected with it having a status of an entrepreneur of key economic and defence importance for Poland’s security. Year by year the size of grants is becoming bigger. In 2012 and 2014 the Company was granted PLN 1 million and PLN 2.19 million, respectively.
“It is not the first time when the Ministry of Economy has acknowledged the strategic meaning Lubawa S.A. for our country’s security, and, as a consequence, has granted us financial support, this time of almost PLN 3.3 million. We appreciate the trust which Lubawa has. This year funds, being a part of financial support, will be invested in repairs and improvement of the facilities functioning efficiency as well as processing lines operating in them, which will result in efficiency improvement and competitiveness,” says Marcin Kubica, the president of the Management Board of Lubawa S.A.
That’s not all, according to the information received by the Management Board from National Centre for Research and Development, another motion filed by the Company from Ostrów Wielkopolski, has been put on the lists of the motions recommended for funding as a part of GEKON programme being a joint initiative of National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management and National Centre for Research and Development. The idea behind the programme is to boost innovation of the Polish economy by supporting the development and implementing of technologies in the field of eco-innovation. By taking part in GEKON programme, Lubawa expects further financial support which, in this case, will be over PLN 2.5 million. The Company expects that a relevant agreement will be concluded in the fourth quarter of the current year.
As the Management Board explains, the scope of the motion refers to developing and introducing into production flexible photovoltaic coverings. Such making will be used in Lubawa S.A. products (i.e. tents) as an outer layer responsible for obtaining the energy from the sunlight.
“It will increase the autonomy of our products which have been powered by external sources until now. It will be an innovative solution on a global scale which will undoubtedly strengthen our position on the market by introducing new cutting-edge and, thanks to this, unrivalled products,” emphasises Kubica.
As a part of the above mentioned funding, a full technology for this innovative product will be developed and Lubawa will equip its plants with modern manufacturing lines for series production of these solutions.
The project will be carried out by consortium consisting of Institute of Metallurgy and Materials Science of Polish Academy of Sciences, Military Institute of Technical Engineering and Lubawa S.A. acting as a leader.
