Lubawa S.A. to strengthen the cooperation with UkrOboronProm
At the ongoing International Defence Industry Exhibition (MSPO) in Kielce, a conference was held by the representatives of Lubawa S.A. and the Ukrainian UkrOboronProm conglomerate.
Boards of the entities announced signing of the agreement, which finalized the next stage of the preparations for further cooperation. The meeting was held as part of the largest trade fair in Poland bringing together representatives of the military industry from all over the world. The conference was attended by Marcin Kubica, president of Lubawa S.A. and Roman Romanov, president of UkrOboronProm. The meeting was devoted to cooperation initiated in December last year, when both entities have concluded the agreement on strategic cooperation, specifying the main objective as introducing products from Lubawa offer into the Ukrainian market, based on the long term government contracts.
This year, the representatives of UkrOboronProm and the Ukrainian army have tested the products of the Polish company, which included, among others, camouflage nets and personal protection systems. Currently, both entities are conducting negotiations on the conditions for future cooperation and potential orders. As announced by the Lubawa president, the company is considering the possibility of locating a production facility at our eastern neighbour. Products of such facility would be directed to the Ukrainian customers, as well as into the neighbouring markets, where UkrOboronProm has a very strong position and trade connections.
”Ukraine is one of the strategic directions for Lubawa expansion. In the past year, we have already been supplying to this market, among others, camp bases and bulletproof vests. Current negotiations with the UkrOboronProm representatives concern, among others, the facility that we are planning to open in Ukraine, as well as the products, that it is to manufacture. Binding decisions have not yet been made, but we are optimistic. Even now, Lubawa products are offered to the customers of UkrOboronProm in our partner's sales channels” – said Marcin Kubica.
UkrOboronProm brings together more than 130 state-owned enterprises which are responsible for all key military supplies in Ukraine, made by the company by means of both own production and import. Cooperation with Lubawa is to make it possible to introduce to Ukraine the military equipment manufactured with the use of components and technologies provided by the Polish partner, while for Lubawa itself it is to allow further increases in sales on the new markets.
