Lubawa S.A. is testing Qinetiq nets for stopping vehicles

Lubawa S.A., in cooperation with Podlaskie Division of the Polish National Border Guard Service, organised a dynamic demonstration of X-NET nets produced by Qinetiq, intended for stopping vehicles. The correct course of the tests was supervised by the Chief of Podlaskie Division of the Polish National Border Guard Service, Colonel Andrzej Rytwiński.

The demonstration took place on 2nd December of the current year in Białystok, and covered the theoretical part conducted in the head office of Podlaskie Division of the Polish National Border Guard Service as well as the practical part which was the dynamic demonstration of stopping a vehicle with innovative X-NET nets. Among the guests invited to the demonstration, there were the representatives of the Headquarters and every unit of the Polish Border Guard, the Police, the Internal Security Agency, the Inspection of Road Transport, the Military Gendarmerie and the Customs Chamber.

X-NET nets were provided by Lubawa S.A. and Qinetiq, and The Polish National Border Guard Service provided the vehicle and specially reinforced tyres used by criminals. During the demonstration, the vehicle driven by the employee of Lubawa S.A., Leszek Kosmala, drove over the net at the speed of 108 km/h. X-NET safely slowed down the vehicle and effectively stopped it. It must be mentioned that in spite of blocking only one front wheel, the vehicle was automatically brought to a halt in a straight line. The demonstration proved that with X-NET it is possible to safely stop a speeding vehicle. X-NET can become a new kind of weapon in the struggle with criminals using vehicles. Cooperation with Qinetiq has established thanks to the Lubawa USA activity.
