Over 3 000 sheathings for bulletproof vests

Lubawa SA carries into effect the contract for delivery of sheathings for bulletproof vests. The 3rd Regional Material Supply Base in Łódź will receive 3357 sheathings for OLV and KLV bulletproof vests.

The value of the contract amounts to PLN 627000. The whole of the order will be effected by the end of December, 2009. The contract with The 3rd Regional Material Supply Base in Łódź was concluded as a result of tender won by Lubawa SA. The 3rd Regional Material Supply Base in Łódź is submitted to the Polish Armed Forces Support Inspectorate in Bydgoszcz, which is responsible for organization, outfit and support of military operations in Poland and abroad. The OLV bulletproof vests assigned for infantry soldiers as well as KLV vests assigned for military vehicles’ drivers remain still the basic element of soldier’s equipment in Poland and abroad.

The sheathings prepared within the present tender will be used mainly for operations of Polish Military Contingent (PMC) in Afghanistan. Since nearly three years, Polish soldiers operate in this country within ISAF mission. Earlier, bulletproof vests manufactured by Lubawa SA were used by soldiers of ten shifts of PMC in Iraq as well as by over 100 soldiers of Polish engineering squad quartering in Bagram base in Afghanistan, and co-operating with allies within “Enduring Freedom” operation. The OLV and KLV bulletproof vests make also component of the equipment of Polish soldiers participating in other foreign missions: in Chad, Congo, the Balkans or Lebanon.
