Lubawa S.A., specialising in the production and distribution of technical clothing and individual equipment for the uniformed services of the public sector, has become the only representative of the defence industry in Poland under the Polish and African Cooperation Congress POLANDAFRICA 2013 which is to be organised in Łódź on 26-27 November 2013. The main objective of the event is to develop the relationship between Poland and Africa, including cooperation with the countries covered by the government program “GO AFRICA”.

A plenary session will be held during the Congress with representatives of the Polish government, government delegates from African countries, local governments of the Łódź province, as well as business organisations and entrepreneurs from Africa and Poland.

The event will also include a fair presenting the economic potential of Poland and of the companies participating in the Congress, and about 12 subject area sessions, one of which will be devoted to the defence industry. Lubawa S.A. will be responsible for the coordination of all the works related to this subject, as well as for the invitation of other entities operating in the sector – the participation in the Congress and the role of the sector subject matter partner the Company is to fulfil is perfectly in line with the development strategy of the Company, said Marcin Kubica, the President of the Management Board of Lubawa S.A. Increasing the engagement as the distributor and manufacturer of technologies and products of other manufacturers, and the implementation of plans for the expansion on global markets are examples of objectives which when reached will, in the opinion of the Management Board, strengthen the position of the Lubawa Group and build its value for the shareholders.

Lubawa has successfully been implementing its plans to reach foreign markets, including the African continent. It is worth mentioning that in mid-April this year, during an official visit of the Polish Government in Nigeria, the Company provided a tent base for the Nigerian police for about 240 officers of the value of approximately USD 0.5 million. Last week Lubawa successfully completed the assembly of the equipment, thereby finalising the first delivery. We are currently conducting talks with the Nigerian government which tend towards the conclusion of the subsequent commercial contracts, adds Marcin Kubica.
